We just moved to the area by Stutts Road and Bridlepath Lane. We d not know the neighbors’ pets but a cat that lookedvery much like the one in these photos walked though our back yard twice this week. I saw the sign and went back to look at it and my son said that it looked like your cat’s picture. Maybe gives you an area to target andwe will keep our eyes open.

I thought I may have seen your cat tonight and remembered seeing your website. After looking at the website, I realize it wasn’t him. Did want to tell you though that 2 years ago we found a cat in our back yard (off Brawley School Road) that had been missing for 3 months from his home. He was declawed front and back and survived in our woods for that long. We were able to reunite him with his owner b/c they left up their flyers. Don’t give up hope and don’t take down your flyers. Our family will continue to look for your baby. Good luck!

    Rebecca,
We moved to the Point early February. Shortly after we moved in we noticed a cat walking through the backyard on a somewhat regular basis. We’ve probably seen him five times or so and I think we last saw him last weekend. I have never gotten very close to him, just looking at him from inside our house so I can’t say for sure that it’s him or not. We just saw the pictures on your website tonight and thought it could be him. We are looking for him. We’re cat people and will do our best to get him contained and safe and get a picture to you.

Thanks Robin. When you see this cat again, you can look to see if it has Biscuit’s distinctive white socks and dark gray and black stripes.

    Dear Community,

Today marks three months since the mysterious disappearance of my beloved friend Biscuit. He was last seen at my house on Gannett Rd. on 12/23/11. His disappearance remains a total mystery. I am hopeful that we will be reunited. There are certainly cases of missing cats being found or returning home after several months. If you have ANY information or leads about Biscuit, please contact me. I really appreciate your assistance.

    Sincerely,
    Rebecca

p.s. When Biscuit comes home he is going to be able to meet his new kid brother, 7-month old kitten, Comet.

I was the one who called you yesterday. I live in Water Oak near the Harris Teeter on Rt150. Have you asked your immediate neighbors if they have checked their basements or sheds? Also, were there any service trucks around the time he became missing? My neighbor’s cat went missing after an HVAC van was servicing his heating unit. We think he must have hopped into the contractors van. Doesn’t hurt to ask around. You never know. I will continue to keep my eyes out for Biscuit. I have a strong feeling he will come back….with a story to tell. Perhaps ask the local Humane Society to assist posting it on their site? Have you utilized Facebook to spread the word? If so, please see my email above and post his info on my wall. I will circulate to my Mooresville friends.

Dear Diane, Thank you so much for keeping the faith for me and Biscuit. It’s hard for me to stay hopeful all the dead ends of the search, but I do keep hoping and praying that he will just show up back on our front deck. When B. first went missing, I spoke with every neighbor on our street and handed to out fliers to the closest 300 houses. The message was, “Please help. Biscuit may be trapped in your shed or underneath your house.” I searched every nook and cranny I could find on my street multiple times and have covered much of the Isle of Pines and Stutts Rd. area on foot.

I know that Biscuit does love to explore small spaces, and that cats often do get trapped and hide silently in fear. Of course, all my searching of the sheds and crawl spaces has turned up nothing. I don’t feel that it is likely he would get hit by a car or hopped onto a vehicle. He’s savvy about cars and traffic, not there is much traffic around our house. I don’t think he is likely to have been fatally attacked by a predator, as he is a healthy 15 lb. clawed cat… I don’t feel it’s likely that someone would have stolen him. All the local shelters and vets know about him.

I do think that wherever he is, his black leather collar is still on him. It’s a buckle collar that has been on him for years.

I sent you a friend request on facebook so I can post on your wall.

Today I have received calls from neighbors about a gray/cream colored cat found in the Stutts Rd. area and an orange cat with no claws in front found in Blume Rd. area. If you’d like info about how to contact these cat finders, just let me know.

Hi Katy, thanks so much for your support and for keeping watch for Biscuit in this area. Please look for a beautiful cat with white paws (his paws are more white in the back than the front) and dark gray and black stripes. It has been about two and a half months since I last saw him. I love and miss him so much. I hear that it is not uncommon for lost cats to start hanging out with other stray cats, especially if they find a steady food source.

Since Biscuit has a Microchip, doesnt that mean you can track him and find where he is?

        • Rebecca
          March 14, 2012 | 7:04 pm

Hi Katy, that’s a very good question that is asked a lot. A microchip is not a homing or GPS device. It’s just a way to ID him, as if he were carrying an ID card. Biscuit has a Homeagain microchip which is implanted in his neck. The chip has his id and contact info in it, and the information is revealed when the microchip is scanned by a special scanner.

Vets and animal shelters all have these scanners, and they run it over the back of the animal like they are scanning an item in the grocery store check out. If Biscuit has lost his collar, and some kind human brings him to a vet or an animal shelter that scans him for the microchip, the search will be over! The Homeagain company also already sent out lost pet alerts to vets and shelters in the area when I reported him missing. There are many stories of pets being reunited with their humans against all other odds thanks to Homeagain microchips, so it gives me comfort that Biscuit has one.

Gray cat still around Lake Normal Elementary School. Currently sleeping under our deck. We live on Greenhill Lane across from school. This cat does not have the dark stripes shown in your pictures. Has some stripes though.

I have seen this gray cat and received numerous calls about it. It is not Biscuit. Biscuit has black stripes against dark gray, and white paws on all feet… thanks for keeping your eyes open.

    Rebecca-

I’m sorry to hear about Biscuit. I lost my cat two weeks ago in the same area. His name is Thor and looks similar to Biscuit. I was curious if someone may have contacted you about in by mistake.

He’s a 22lbs bengal male cat. Lost on 2/24 from 134 Matlen Dr. Please let me know if someone contacted you about him in error.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Today marks two months since I last saw Biscuit. In spite of all my efforts and all of the community’s help and support, I have not developed any solid leads on where he is. It’s as if he just vanished.

If anyone has any information, please come forward.

      Hi, Rebecca,

I’m so sorry you had this “anniversary”. Was your pet detective any help at all?

Can you post to a website that encompasses an area larger than your immediate locale? Maybe he’s outside of a 5-mile radius.

      I’m still thinking positively………

      Take care,
      Jackie

        February 26, 2012 | 5:58 pm

Hi Jackie, I consulted with pet detective Danielle Robertson. She was helpful because she gave me specific instructions for how to make eye-catching neon posters and where to hang them. I really benefited from having specific guidance because at the time I was so distraught I could hardly think straight enough to get my act together with the posters. She said that 90% of effectiveness in finding a lost pet is based on getting the word out through posters.

I have also posted Biscuit as a lost cat on Craigslist Charlotte and petfinder.com. Thanks for your concern and support!

Got another report of a grayish cat at Lake Norman Elementary. I went over there to look around, and the cat walked right up to my car. I got a good look at it. It’s a grayish cat that is not Biscuit.

This kitty seems to be living in and around the drainage pipes right around the school on both sides of Oak Tree Rd.

    February 9, 2012 | 2:46 pm

This morning and last night I posted about 25 more neon-colored flyers in the vicinity of Isle of Pines, Aberdeen Village subdivision at the Point, Stutts Rd., Mallard Head golf course area, and Canvasback.

I theorize that if Biscuit has become displaced, he is probably in these areas. However, as I mentioned above, he could be anywhere, as there have been no confirmed sightings.

I am so grateful for all the kindness, support, and concern of the community. It makes this situation easier to bear.

I live off of Stutts and have seen your signs. I will be on the lookout for him. I can post a link to your website on my Facebook. I have a lot of friends in the area. My heart is with you in your quest. My Lalo will also be looking out her window daily for him. Prayers!!!

Hi Stuart, thanks for your support. The Stutts Rd. area is certainly a probable area he could have wandered over to from Isle of Pines. I’m making sure to keep a lot of signs up around there. The day I find him, all signs are coming down.

That would be wonderful if you could post the link to findbiscuit.com on your Facebook and tell your friends to be on the lookout!

Biscuit is so special to me. He’s my pride and joy. I’ve had him since he was six weeks old. We have been a team ever since, for the last six years. His birthday is April 15th. That makes the tax deadline a beautiful day to celebrate. He’s my first cat. I call him “B” for short and refer to him as my supervisor.

I love Biscuit so much. Everyday that I have been the human for Biscuit, he makes me smile, laugh, and feel so much love. He’s got a big, charming personality. He’s very cuddly and loving. We miss him so much! I am just heartbroken without him. I can’t wait to pet his soft fur, hear him purring again, and watch him do his kitty yoga on the run.

Thanks so much to everyone who is helping me to bring him back home.

My daughter rides the bus home from school and says she saw a cat that fits Buscuit’s description. They were in the neighborhood called Edgewater which is off of Blume and there is a large field on your right when you enter the neighborhood. The field runs all the way through to Brawley so it could be possible. Our cat was lost for about 2 weeks this summer when we moved here to Mooresville but we eventually found him across the street at an empty house. We found him late at night and it took a while for him to want to come back to us, he acted like he did not know us at all even though we have had him for 13 years. Your cat may be right around your home. I would suggest going out at night to search for him. Best of luck to you.
      Good Luck!

      Rebecca,
I read about Biscuit today in a newspaper at work. I work at the Nascar Technical Institute on Byers Creek, and we have several stray cats there that I take care of. I will keep my eyes open for him. There are several over there. I copied the article out of the paper and I’m posting them at our school. We have 900+ sets of eyes that may see him near the school or their apartments. I know exactly how you feel. My 1 cat, Ava disappeared for over 3 days when I 1st moved here 6 years ago (Donaldson, Pa), and I searched everywhere for her in the woods nearby. I found a set of eyes in a tree 1 night, and that day I searched that area to find her stuck up in the tree. She was probably there all 3 days. Does Biscuit have his claws? If so you may want to look in nearby trees if you haven’t already. Again, I will keep my eyes open in that area, I pray for a safe return home for him :)

Thank you so much for your kindness, thoughtfulness, prayers, and for helping to get the word out at your school.

Yes, Biscuit has all his claws. I will keep looking up in the trees as I search.

Mooresville Weekly mentions you moved to Mooresville a year ago. While it does not say where you came from, there have been stories about cats going back to their home as much as 200 miles distances. And that may mean the original home.
Just a thought. You might need to add your old neighborhood to the places watched.

    Best luck!
